    Default demo 100 year old claw foot tubes

    Howdy have to remove 2 old tubs that are way heavy and do not have easy acess to carry out the house much less want to get down from upstairs.. How to break theme up- with a sledge hammer?
    On the same line have large seam regirsetrs again way heavy to move demo with a sledge hammer? one is 2' by 12' rest about 4 by5' each. The location is in a samll town in Nebraska.

    Before you smash and trash, you might see if there is an architectural salvage in the area that would buy/come get them. It might be worth finding an extra set of hands to get them out. Beyond that, wear long sleeves and pants, face, eyes, ear protection included, and have at it with a sledge hammer. As to the radiators, I've never dealt with one to know if a sledge will reduce them.

    Thanks i will be a pounding in the spring. Shame to make to scrap but no salvage guys close bye.

    You might see what's available ****** and possibly salvage the feet. You never know ...

    With the radiators you can generally cut the tie rods and seperate the sections and still maintain salvage value.

    Hi the feet are ornate and not attachjed so will keep them.

    Hi, what would you cut the rods with?
    Salvage a good idea will cogitate on it...
