    Default Insulating mudroom

I just took a hammer to the plaster wall of my mud room in order to get an idea about insulating this room. I took out a small section of plaster and lath and found nothing but a one by four in front of a thin piece of black vapor barrier. I cut out a two inch piece of the barrier and am now staring at a wall of tongue and groove? Anyone know where the rest of my wall is?

    Thumbs up Re: Insulating mudroom

That is your wall. Imagine that a narrow wall- permits pulled when built?
So want to insulate it consider removal to the framing and blow in closed cell foam. Or retrofit from the exterior remove siding and have 2 to 6 " of foam insulation 4 by 8' sheets installed and then a furrowing striping and new siding.

Thanks Timothy, That explains why the mud room seems to match the outside temp. -40c some days.
