    Default ceiling heat

I recently bought a new home that is approx. 35 yrs old.
I am in the process of remodeling the kichen and building an island. The home has wires running above the sheet rock in the ceiling. I currently have a ceiling fan above the island but would like to put up a few pendant lights instead. Does anyone know how i can do this without damaging the wires? I really dont want to rip out the whole ceiling...

Have you looked at a single fixture which could replace the ceiling fan and still satisfy your lighting need , like a track light?

Above all, check with a stud finder having an energized wire feature and turn off your ceiling heat circuit breaker, before penetrating the sheetrock!

if you goning to start cutting holes in the drywall and there are lines up there, you will want to be very careful. Dont use ***** tools, use a drywall saw and cut very shallow! good luck!!
