I have a good sized kitchen which was added to many decades ago, I assume. The floor slopes toward the inside of the house in the original half of the room but after that floor joists are perpendicular to the rest of the house. And that is the point that the floor starts sloping the opposite direction creating a "peak" to the floor so-to-speak. Because there is another room adjacent to this with a similar problem and I do not have access to the floor underneath, I am hesitant to "sister" the joists in the kitchen and have a step down into the next room. We are going to carpet the room and I would rather not see that peak afterword. Any advise? Thanks.
