Removing wax from wood floors
We would like to restore 100 year old fir floors which appear to have been finished with penetrating oil, most likely linseed, and then waxed (alot) before being covered with carpet many years ago. They are in beautiful shape but for the now dirty and gummy wax buildup. Does anyone have a method for removing the wax so we can protect them with a fresh coat of tung oil? Any comments or experience with this would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for the suggestion, we will try it! Hope you had a good time remembering your national poet!
