    Default Wiring question

    Please help!

I was replacing the fixture and found the following:

Inside the ceiling box there is one black wire and three (?) white wires connected together with one white wire coming out of this connection (4 tails are connected together - 3 in and 1 out).

Before removal there was the 70s shop light fixture (fluorecent) holding 4 40W long tubes.

Any ideas if I can use a regular incandecent fixture for replacement?

Additional info - the wall switch looks kinda fancy (especially for the 70s), and may be wired for a dimmer (?). Cannot check with prior owners - it was an estate sale...

    Thanks!

The wiring does seem a bit odd but if the old fluorescent light worked so should an incandescent. What colors did they land on the switch?
