Got an issue with the waste stack drain pipe. In the picture you can see a tee connection where the sink in the powder room meets the main waste pipe.
It was just discovered that any waste water upstream coming down the waste stack has been back flowing into the powder room drain pipe depositing debree in the sink's drain pipe which then plugs up the sink. So the solution is to change out the tee for a wye.
Is that going to be easy?
See picture - Today the rubber hub coupling was slid down to expose what was under neath it. It seems as though the tee is just resting on the PCV pipe.
What about the tee itself, does that screw into the wye above it or do those pieces just sit on top of one another?
The plan was to detach the drain pipe and then remove the tee by moving it up and out, am I on the right track?
Thanks in advance,
