Too much wall insulkation?
Howdy anyone run into problems in cold winter climate with too much wall Cellulose insulation? I am considering a double wall staggered stud to renovate the exterior walls in old home Thus a 10" wall cavity on the exterior walls filled with cellulose. I have found information about foam and fiberglass and combination there of but nothing about cellulose instead. An before i go further could use some insight.
Re: Too much wall insulkation?
In general, there is no such thing as 'too much' insulation - but the system you describe has some challenges related to vapor control. Check out www.buildingscience.com. They have a lot of good resources for High R-Value Wall Assembly designs, including detail drawings.
