    Default Sewer (septic) odor

We live in a single story, ranch style home that uses a septic system. The house was built in the 1970s. During high wind conditions (15+ mph) a sewer odor emanates from one of the bath rooms. Could this be from wind currents around the sewer vent pipes in the house? What can be done to alleviate this condition?

    Thanks,

    Gil Merkle

it's possible that the vent pipe in that bathroom is not vented out through the roof. it might be vented with a special cap within the wall or one of the vent pipes is corroded or broken open. i'd have a plumber check it out, that shouldn't be happening.

You may also want to check the wax seal in the toilet base.
