Default How to properly tighten down a toilet

I suspect this topic has been answered already, but I did a search and didn't find an answer so I'm going to ask anyway.

I'm about to install a new toilet and I'm wondering if anyone out there has a trick to know how to tighten the bolts at the base of the toilet so that they're as tight as possible (or as needed) without cracking the toilet.
Please don't laugh, but are there torque specs for toilet bolts if one has a torque wrench?

I've cracked one toilet base in my history and I'd like not to repeat that.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

There is no torque specs for this. Just tighten bolts evenly
1 1/2 turns then the other side. Tighten just until stool doesnt rock or move. Just go at it with a light hand you should be okay. I think every one has cracked a closet bowl before.
