    Default kitchen backsplash

I am remodeling my kitchen and putting up 4' wood paneling on the walls. I don't know what to do for a backsplash on the wall above the sink. I am getting maple cabinets and the walls are a darker, dusty blue. I am thinking of wood laminate flooring as well. Does anyone have ideas for the backsplash??? ceiling tiles, ceramic(i'd really rather not), paneling, or any others

how about just having a 4" backsplash that matches the countertop. you can put it right up against the paneling and caulk the seam where the backsplash meets the paneling
