    Default cracks in ceiling

    i live in a 20yr old condo and screws from above the ceiling are starting to come through and make cracks in several areas. how do i fix this?

    chances are that they are nails and not screws that are coming through. the best way to fix it is to put a screw into the ceiling about an inch from each popping nail head into the joist, that will secure the ceiling then if you can,remove the nail and throw it away, if you can't remove the nail then after you put in your screws use a nail set and get the nail deeper into the ceiling, the screw will hold the ceiling up so that it won't droop and pull the nail out again. then spackle and paint.
