    Default color of crown moulding

    Should crown molding match color on the walls or should it be white like the ceiling. thank you

    not always, but usually crown molding is painted the same color as the trim in the room

    Basic rules, if you want to appear to bring the ceiling down paint the crown the same color as the ceiling, If you want to make the walls appear taller paint the crown the same as the walls, if you want the crown to be an accent like the rest of the trim in the room paint it the color of the rest of the trim.

    I like to paint the crown the same color as the ceiling...white..but I use a semi gloss on the crown as opposed to the flat white for the ceiling. This makes the crown pop a little more. Some people have a preference for high gloss to really give it a shine but the semi works for me.
