    Default Basement Support

I have a old brick bungalow house with wooden beams and support columns in the basement. The columns are standing on masonry blocks. I've noticed cracks in both the beams and column and a bit of masonry dust around the blocks. Should I have a contractor replace all with steel?

Howdy you are aware of cracked support column and brick deterioration so yes what better time then to have a contractor ou and install some steel posts - likely on new footers - before failure or at the least cracking of the walls and ceiling above
