Default how many blocks for crawspace foundation

Hi, For a 2 story (basically one and a half cape cod 30x40 foot style) house, is there a code that states the MAX amount of stacked concete blocks you can use for the foundation? without a basement...

I am wanting to use 5 maybe 6 and didn't know if this was going to be a problem or not...

    thanks

Hi the thing to do is call your local regional building department and ask them what your local code requires. Frost heave will impart determine how many courses as how deep your block wall will go. Are you considering dry stacking or using mortar?

You have a lot of code issues to deal with. Size and depth of footing, height of your crawl space, height of block walls with or without a basement, whether the wall is built with pilasters or reinforcing. A 30'x 40' house is relatively simple, but there are a lot of issues. A decent builder will know or a local building department often will have basic requirements available.

Your engineered drawings will specify what and how many of materials to be used.
