    Default dryer vent

I have a long dryer vent (27') from dryer to outside wall, Can I use a solid pvc pipe instead of using the sections of aluminum pipe that you normally see.

Not if it is a gas dryer. You should check locale requirements for max. run lenth also.

You should be using rigid aluminum or steel ducting and the appropriate length depends on how many 90 degree turns you have. Obviously the shortest most direct route is the best way. You should not be using PVC.
