Hi, Could any one explain to me what a 60 Amp Double Pole Breaker is and how it differs from a normal breaker.

    Thanks,

A 60 amp double pole breaker is a breaker rated at 60 amps , it has two hot terminals and is used to protect a 240 amp circuit (residential use like a range circuit) it takes up 2 spaces in a panel and "normal" breaker is a single pole breaker it is only connected to one hot and is used for 120 v circuits (residential use like lighting circuits) and takes up one space in a panel.
