1-1/8" thick maple treads?
Might someone give me a bit of advice on treads?
I am installing 14' stringers that are 38" wide from outside to outside edge. Three 2x12's are being used and there is a supporting wall half way across the run. Treads will be 9-1/2" (plus 1" bullnose).
Would 1" maple treads be too thin? It may even be slightly thinner. The wood I am thinking about getting is ~1-1/8" rough sawn. I was going to plane one side and bullnose the front, leaving the underside rough.
