Cool Tenting Tile (Rice Crispies Cereal)

After a lot of snap-crackle-and-pop last Sunday, the tile separated from my entire 1st floor (1050 sq ft) and tented in some places.

I live in South Florida where we have an issue with humidity and heat leading to thermal expansion of the tile.

I am in the process of recovering the tile and putting it back down after cleaning all the thin-set off of the floor & tile & TSP'ing the floor. (I doubt the homeowner's insurance is going to cover it). My question is... is there a better type of thin-set and/or grout that I should use to prevent this from happening in the future???

    Many thanks in advance!

Is there a (preferred) Brand Name? Redgard?

    Thanks!

Because of the tile separation from the floor, I have been able to recover almost 90% of the tile for reuse (I'll use a medallion for the other "cracked" tile).

What is the most successful way to clean up the fine dust? I'm using a shop-vac with a hepa filter, but it just makes the dust more airborne.
