Hi. I want to install a maple butcher block as a countertop for a vanity in my guest bathroom. (Vanity is white with an undermount oval sink, walls purple, light brown 'imported' marble floor). Question: is it advisable to use wood as a countertop for a vanity? Any risks of mildew in the long run? Should I seal the wood on a regular basis?
I would need to make a template of the top of the vanity and sink and send it to the butcher block shop. I am concerned that their countertop may not fit perfectly.
Any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Eli
