New Sump Pump Question (holes???)
I'm going to put in a isolated sump pump basin to relieve some water pressure that builds under our 20'X 30' basement about 2
times a year, and leaves 1/4" of water on the floor. My best
guess what I'll find when I cut the hole in the floor is just
a lot of sand. (we just dont have clay or rocks around here).
I'm going to put in 24" deep basin that I will wrap with a
filter fabric to keep out any silt. I'm interested in keeping
the first 4" of soil under the cement floor well drained. My
Question is "WHERE DO I PUT THE HOLES IN THE PLASTIC BASIN, AND
HOW MAY HOLES SHALL I DRILL IN IT?" (I'm putting in a 1/2 hp
pump that will pump 3500 gph @ 8 ft. lift) *My thinking is 3 rows
of 1/2" holes....2" apart around the radius....and keep the
rows 2" apart from one row to the next.(this will put the rows
1" under the floor,...3" under the floor,...and 5" under the
