    Default Supply size.

Im getting ready to replace my steel supply pipes in my basement with pex, but the main coming out of my basement floor is 3/4, it goes up to the ceiling of the basement and then steps down to 1/2. I would like to run 3/4 and tap off of it in 1/2 to the bath and the kitchen but run 3/4 to my water heater and 3/4 out and step down to 1/2 also. is this going to do anything to my water pressure. please keep in mind my water heater is almost 20 feet from my water inlet and my inlet is about 20 feet from the street main. I am going to be installing a water softner.

    Thanks for any help

If anything I would think your deign would help you to maintain a more steady water pressure.
