Default Finished Basement was not insulated how can i insulate

We bought our first home about 10 months ago. It is a ranch with a full finished basement.

I noticed that the basement walls were not insulated. They did put a vapor barrier that was loosely tacked on.

My Question is, how can I insulte my basement now that the basement is finished?

I can get access to a 2 1/2 gap between two of the three walls from my sump room.

    Please help.

    Thanks.

if your vb is loosely attached it's doing more harm than good. i'm now expert in this but and i'm sure you'll get better answers. fix your vb and if the walls are strapped but no insulation. you might want to look at foam being sprayed between them. another thing is check and see if your drywall is ok. no mildew or mold behind it. if it is you probably want to start from scratch. hell of a big job in ranch style home. but you'll have to get rid of that mold.
