Default brass trim on mirrored closet doors

Hi. I am wondering if it is possible to have my wardrobe doors painted. I want to get rid of the brass trim which really dates the house. Can they be painted??? Thanks for any help!! Maggie

I would say that yes, you can paint the frames. I'd recommend sanding the frames to roughen the surface so that you get better adhesion with both primer and paint. Use fine wet/dry sandpaper to thoroughly buff the pieces, vacuum and wipe down with a damp rag to remove the dust/debris, then use a good aerosol metal primer and paint. Mask off the mirrors before painting. Paint outside or in the garage with good ventilation, not in direct sunlight.
I suffer from CDO ... Its like OCD, but in alphabetical order, LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!
