    Question Silica stains

High silica concentrations have stained brand new toilets. What will remove stains without damaging the porcelain? Nothing over-the-counter seems to work.

Fill a well-padded sink or dishpan with very warm water.

    Step 2

For each gallon of water, add 1/4 cup of OxiClean and 2 to 3 Tablespoons of a grease fighting dish washing liquid such as Dawn.

The warmer the water ~ the better it works. Allow the ingredients to mix in the running water as the dishes begin to soak.

    Step 3
Antique Limoges ~ All Safely Cleaned

It may take anywhere from five to thirty minutes depending on the stain.

Deep old stains, such as those found in crevices or difficult-to-see hairline cracks, may require a bit more. If so, just rinse and repeat
