Question Rediverting Water softener discharge hose from septic

I have recently found out that it is a bad thing to have my water softer discharge hose drain into my septic tank. I know by moving it to drain in the lawn, the salt kills pretty much everything. Any suggestions on setting up a proper discharge site for this system away from the septic? Thank you for any help provided

It is not legal to run your brine on to the lawn. It has to go into your sewer. Try having you water tested and make sure you are not over doing it with the salt. Or switch to potassium.

It must depend on your locality because in Mass everybody dumps into a rock bed outside the foundation. Salt is concretes arch enemy, I'd take a brown patch of grass over a failed septic.

What plumbing code is Mass under?

The UPC requires it go into the sewer.

    Doesn't seem very environmentally friendly.
