    Default metal boxes metal switch covers?

    wiring unfinished basement have metal gang boxes for the switches mounted to masonry walls does code require metal covers or can i use plastic ones?

    I don't know that there's a code issue, but if the boxes are on the surface of the wall, then the plastic covers with their sharp corners will be prone to snagging on things as you walk by. Metal covers have rounded edges that fit the boxes more neatly.
    I suffer from CDO ... Its like OCD, but in alphabetical order, LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!

    Thanks to both of you for commenting. I had not thought of the sharp corners. I'm always concerned about metal covers and shocks i know the grounding and proper instillation makes this a silly worry- go figure.
