    I don't think you could tile directly over epoxy, but you could lay laminate flooring or wood flooring on top with no problem.

    As soon as you said that you had to hold down the button, I knew you had a sensor issue. If you reconnected it correctly then it must be the sensor.

    You could hook up a volt meter to the wires...
