    Old ones that are worth the effort. Nothing super fancy, but they're not the cheap-o ones I could replace for $3. I'll try the rustoleum.

    I guess from now on I will as well! Do you think I need to re-strip the grates and start over or can I do a coat of the rustoleum now and then my top coat?

    that is what I thought, so I used spray-on kilz oil-based primer. Do you think I needed multiple coats of primer? It looked like it covered, but now I'm wondering if it did.
