    Re: Toilet installation in basement

The cap is actually a "backwater valve", The pipe drain goes straight upwards to a toilet upstairs and then out to the roof vent. I was told that if the new toilet is 6' or less from the main line no...

    Re: Toilet installation in basement

Actually I called a dozen of them and only 3 actually came by since all the others were either on vacation or too busy. This was drawn by one of them. I am sure this is not the extreme best way to do...

    Re: Toilet installation in basement

For vent, there is a an opening right beside the new installation which is currently closed with a cap (on the pipe going downwards to the ground). I was going to open that cap and install a sink....

    Re: Toilet installation in basement

I had several plumbers come to check this out today (3 to be more accurate). The main concerns were the following: the length of the new pipe going into the main pipe (since I have it less then 6...

    Re: Toilet installation in basement

The venting should be OK since this pipe comes from the bathroom upstairs (so I am guessing there is already a proper vent). It's just the PVC pipe that we installed that bothers me. I will contact...

    Toilet installation in basement

I wanted to add a toilet in my basement. I already removed the cement and I also cut the pipe (its an old house so the original pipe was made of hard 4" metal pipe). I got the PVC pipe installation...
