    Re: Plaster/wallpapered walls...how to paint?

Hmmm...it seems that the paper wasn't wallpaper after all, but something applied to protect the cracks in the plaster?

Does this still mean skim coating? If so, do I use the "mud" Menards sold...

Thanks for your help, Jack! What could we do about the dents and holes in the steps?

    Hi there,

We'd like to fix our living room walls...it appears that they were once wallpapered and someone attempted to rip SOME of it off, but did not succeed. They then painted over it at least...

we're newbies with an old staircase....

    Hi there,

We just pulled up the carpet off of a 96 year old staircase...lots of scratches, dents, and hundreds (if not thousands) of staples. We're 2/3 of the way pulling up the staples, so that's...
