Look around there are vanity's that have legs. The baseboard heat may fit under it and still give you a heat source.
  5. Re: Sink Hot and Cold Knobs Alternate Randomly

Sounds like you have a tempering valve on the hot water that has gone bad. If not then the is a cross connection between the hot and cold.
  6. Re: Replacing a toilet on concrete/ceramic tile floor

Sounds like he fit the flooring tight to the walls. There should be at least a 1/4" space between the flooring and walls to allow for movement.

    Re: Stairs out of code

One thing I would check is will you be able to get insurance on the home. On older homes the insurance company's are starting to require an inspection by there company before they insure it.
  11. Re: Is this part of the toilet flange that needs to be removed?

That is a plastic flange with a metal ring. The pipe needs to be cut below the flange then replaced with a coupling and new flange to the correct height.

Re: Problem Removing Bathtub Stem Valve

You have the stem jammed. You have to free up the stem before it will unscrew. You must get the stem in the half on position.

Re: Problem Removing Bathtub Stem Valve

Try turning the stem to the half open position. There are some that won't come out with them fully open or closed.

Re: Heating oil smell throughout house

If they didn't replace the cap it would have little effect on oil fumes escaping from the tank because all fuel tanks are vented into the open air.
