    What if I used the cement backer board instead of plywood?

    I know that is recommended under tile for stability and moisture resistance?

    Yes, the basement does run under it. That is my big issue. If it did not, no big deal. I would just replace boards with trex material and be done. But it lets moisture through and cold air...
