Re: Exterior door rough opening too short

After finding a "shortcut" to posting links, I've made the minimum ten posts to be able to link, so here goes: door frame

There's practically zero-clearance between the existing door frame and...

    Bath vent: soffit or roof?

I'm looking into replacing the bathroom vent fan + ducting and I suspect the original vent went nowhere but the attic space...bad.

  5. Re: New cordless system: Milwaukee, Makita, or DeWalt?

Last summer I was shopping around for a cordless drill/driver and started checking out the "kits" available. Where I work, we've used Bosch, Milwaukee and DeWalt drill/drivers for years. The compact...

Re: Installation of water softener and filter.

I just installed a water softener earlier this month. I'm not going to say one brand of anything is better than another, but I will say that if you do the work yourself compression fittings are the...

    Sliding Pocket Door

My house has a pocket door between the living room and the kitchen/dining area. It rubs inside the frame, squeaks and looks pretty ugly. How hard are these to replace? I'm considering just framing in...

    Tileboard?

Has anyone used tileboard in their bathroom with decent results? I'm concerned about the thin surface being easily damaged. Otherwise, it seems like a decent wallcovering for a bathroom, and maybe...

Exterior door rough opening too short

I'm about to replace the back service door to my garage with a prehung steel door. I just went with an off-the-shelf prehung door because it's on the back of the house so it doesn't need too look...
