    Thank you for the info. There are 1"x3' boards there because whoever put up the ceiling before used ceiling tiles. They of course are not level either.

    Ripping studs is the only way to go.

    Need to put up new drywall. It had ceiling tile with furing strips. Can I use the furing strips for the drywall running perpendicular to the joices as long as they are even? Or can I run 2x4's...

    There are soffit vents and a ridge vent and a vent in the gable end. All in the new roof.

    The old roof has a few areas where some boards have been removed.

    There are some hole in the old roof but I do believe that the outside air is getting trapped between the old roof and my ceiling. It is not getting to the new roof.

    Ok I had a new roof put on my very old house. It is a 8/12 pitch.
    The person that did it built rafters OVER the old roof.

    I have an outside faucet that has no shut-off valve under the crawl space. It is galvanized steel piping. Will it freeze. I live in northwestern pa and it is definatley cold here.
