Which direction should your ceiling fan blades spin?
Jeannie L. in WV asks:
"I can't find anything in your most recent newsletter (Smart Ceiling Fans, 6/2007) about which direction your ceiling fan should be turning in summer and winter. I know I've read somewhere that you need to change directions with the season. Is this true?"
Re: Which direction should your ceiling fan blades spin?
During the summer you want the fan blowing down directly on you, and the warmer it is the faster you run it. In the winter you run the fan so it is blowing up, this way it is not directly on you but pushes the warm air at the cieling down the walls.
Down is gerally counter clockwise as you look up at tyhe fan.
