Single-pipe steam radiator will not shut off
My apartment has four steam radiators and I've consistently had problems with the largest one in the living room. Frustrated with the leaking, I recently replaced its shut-off valve. On an unexpectedly cold day last weekend, this was the only radiator to come on, even with the new valve completely closed. Is this possible? How could a radiator hiss when its supposedly shut off? Did I neglect something in the re-installation of the new valve? If anyone has any tips they would be greatly appreciated.
