Cleaning bathtub drain
Thanks to my wife's long hair, our bathtub drain gets clogged and drains rather slowly. I have gotten underneath (easy access from the crawl space) and disconnected the trap and cleaned that out, but it still drains rather slowly. My suspicion is that a fair amount of hair is caught at the top of the drain, right where it leaves the bathtub, making it inaccessible from below (there is a horizontal run of about six inches or so before the drain gets to the trap that I can't get off). I can't access it from the top either, because our drain plug is of the built-in "push down to close, push down again to open" type, and from what I can tell doesn't just screw off. I have tried taking it apart, but only gently because I don't want to risk breaking something I can't fix. How can I best get the drain clean, so the shower can drain properly again? Once I do that, How can I best keep it from clogging again in the future? Thanks.
