Converting an interior door to slider with recess
I have an old Pennsylvania farm house circa 1790. I would like to convert an interior downstairs door (1" thick wood) leading to the stairs to slide along the wall (also 1" thick wood) vise swing into the room. I would however like to have the door recess back into it's original frame when closing to seal the opening and prevent heat rise to the upstairs in the winter. This would also let me use the original drop latch to keep the door secured. All the tracks I can find are single plane. I'd envision tracks with a 90 deg hook into the wall at the closing position or a slide mechanism on the rollers. Any ideas?

custom metal fabrication....you'll never find anything like that as a stock item from any of the manufacturers
