Infrared radiant heating panels - do they work?
Is anyone familiar with infrared heating panels. (redwellheating.com, prestylusa.com)? They advertise that they can heat a room for 50 cents a day. You hang them on the wall, or the ceiling. They are cool to the touch and can be disguised as whiteboards, mirrors, or fine art. You can even have your own art placed on them.
We have added on a playroom to our old farmhouse and I was investigating installing one of these to heat it.
The technology seems so simple yet I can't find anyone who has one except the people selling them. Is anyone familiar with this technology - it seems to good to be true.
The rest of our house is forced air that we use sparingly, a pellet stove, and an air source heat pump.
