Ptrap in relation to vent
I watched the Old House hour a couple of weeks ago where Rich installed a second sink in a bathroom. It looked like the plumbing for the second sink was routed so that the bottom of the trap opening would be above the lip of the vent connection.
I didn't think you could do that. So what is the rule for the height of the ptrap in relation to where it connects to the vent.
Re: Ptrap in relation to vent
If the P-trap connects a few inches above then it's no big deal --- the vent is shifted up the same amount. Besides a drain pipe can be technically a vent when it's not draining ( one that runs from the main line vertically up to the roof )
